EPSI background paper: The new EPSI background paper proposes a Transition Goal: “Transformational Political Movements gain executive and legislative power in a critical mass of countries through democratic elections“, and outlines how the goal was developed.
Evaluation & Learning Cohort: EPSI Project #1 – the Evaluation & Learning Cohort (New Economy) – is being developed in partnership with Collaborative Impact and is currently open for prospective members.
The Cohort provides a structured space and process for a small, time-bound Cohort of New Economy organisations to voluntarily have their individual work independently evaluated. In addition to the value of structured reflection to individual organisations, the Cohort model allows for the ongoing sharing of lessons learned and reflections among peers.
Collective Cohort-level reflections will be published and shared with the broader field; the publication of individual evaluation reports is encouraged but not required. More details are at the Evaluation & Learning Cohort page.
EPSI Workplan: The Workplan currently has three projects, with projects #2 and #3 currently seeking partners for further development.
Project#2 looks at the role of the renewables sector as a candidate to become a political economy force for the Transition.
Project #3 proposes a research program to start addressing known open questions around transformative mobilisation. The research program would generate both theoretical contributions and testable hypotheses, working in partnership with political organisers, social movements and national researchers.
For an overview please see the Workplan page.
Fiscal hosting: Thanks to fiscal hosting by WEAID gGMBH in Berlin, the EPSI is now legally able to receive and manage funds, as well as to issue employment contracts through the hosting arrangement, in full compliance with applicable legislation in Germany. For more details on fiscal hosting see the dedicated WE AID page.
Many thanks to the New Economy organisations and researchers who have provided feedback and questions to the EPSI so far. Feedback is always welcome at mheywood@eps.institute.
